Three Pak nationals shot down in border encounter

Three Pak nationals shot down in border encounter The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) shot down three Pakistani intruders and seized 22 kg heroin following an encounter in the Amarkot sector of the Indo-Pak border. A 12 bore gun and 10 live cartridges were also recovered from the encounter site. As per the BSF, the three Pak nationals were spotted through a camera when they were approaching towards an area falling under the Dharma border outpost in Amarkot sector on the intervening night of March 18 and 19. On this, the jawans of the BSF challenged them but the Pakistani nationals did not stop and opened fire on the BSF jawans. Reacting to this BSF returned fire and after a brief encounter, the three Pakistani nationals were shot down. Total 17 rounds were fired by the BSF in this encounter. A search operation was launched in the area thereafter and 22 kg heroin, a gun, 10 live cartridges, 2 mobile phones, Rs. 200 Pakistani currency and an empty fired case was also found from the spot. The dead bodies of the Pakistani nationals are also in possession of the BSF. According to the BSF, it primarily looked like a smuggling bid as the three killed were also carrying a plastic pipe, which is normally used by smugglers at the border to get drugs across the fence.
